Is my organization or business required to support every one of Austin Outside’s advocacy efforts?
No - if an effort does not align with your organization’s priorities and goals, you are not required to sign on.

What is required to become a coalition member?
Currently, the only requirement of membership is to attend the quarterly meetings but there are other ways that you can get involved like serving on the Executive Committee, donating funds to support the work, providing space for meetings, donating staff time, and participating in advocacy efforts. 

Who can become a coalition member?
Any organization or business that is passionate about our greater Austin outside spaces can become a member - it is open to any organization  and doesn't require an invitation! Topics and areas of interest to Austin Outside so far include parks and open space as well as active transportation, like bicycling, hiking, wheelchairing, scootering and walking.

Tell me more about the meetings.
Currently, AO coalition members meet 4 times a year, from noon-1 via zoom. Committee meetings take place as needed to advance their distinct goals. Members are welcome to join any committees. Current committees include:

  • Board of Directors/Executive Committee

  • Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) Committee

  • Trails & Active Transportation Committee

  • Parks & Open Spaces Committee

  • Membership & Governance Committee

  • Finance & Development Committee
